"Superstar K 2" is Koreas version of the American hit tv reality show American Idol, and they are about ready to prepare for a new season with the hope of launching the career of a new star this season. Last years winner was popular singer Seo In Gook, and the producers hope that this year will be bigger and better than the last.

Auditions have already drawn candidate numbers of about 700,000 and is slight increase from the previous year. the largest numbers of applicants are said to come from Seoul, Busan, Incheon, Daegu, Daejeon, Gwangju, Chuncheon, and Jeju (in that order), and will end on June 3rd 2010 so with lots of time left officials expect those number to grow in the upcoming months.

Last season, Superstar K boasted an audience of 8.47% of television viewers and aim to increase that number this season.
